Can any experts help? - Grey bar test and other issues (repair or replace?)

I'm not sure what to make of this:

photo 2: http://img38.imageshack.us/img38/9628/dscf6485.jpg

Photo 1 and 2 are of the same iMac screen but the results from each of the photos seems to differ. Like photo 1 shows less contrast between bars than photo 2 does. Why is this?

Also, here are left/right bar photos:

photo 3: http://img185.imageshack.us/img185/8317/dscf6496rightbar.jpg

photo 4: http://img198.imageshack.us/img198/345/dscf6497rightbar.jpg

Why does photo 3 show better results than photo 4? They're of the same screen... maybe I'm missing something, can anybody explain? Not sure how to interpret these results.

Also, should I go with repair or replace? There were a few other problems like no detection of airport card, dented stand, and two dead pixels (that I can see so far). And another thing was that I noticed there was this grumbling hungry-stomach type noise. I looked this up in the forum here and it also seems to be an issue people are experiencing. All of these could be taken care of in a repair (I think?) but I wonder if I should replace.

Other info: bought from apple online refurb store, 27" i7
