Can anybody recommend a decent "no data plan" verizon phone?

Thanks for reading this guys. My father in law asked me if I could help him find a decent cell phone for my little brother in law (he is 14.) I've had iPhones and blackberries for years and have had AT&T for the past ten years. I know nothing about verizon phones (other than I don't want one myself.) I already tried to get him to go for an iPhone, but he won't switch plans. I also suggested maybe a droid, but he doesn't want the data plan.

So here's the parameters:

1. No data plan
2. Can be found on either craigs list or eBay for under a hundred bucks. No upgrade is available.
3. Cool enough for a 14 yo

I realize this is an iPhone forum, but a lot of you seem pretty knowledgeable about cell phones in general. Thanks for any help

Well, My lil brother (13yr old) has a motorola razor. He too young to have anything cool.

Try sony ericcsons

sony erricsons are the perfect phone for teenagers. Even the 5 year old phones.
They are usually mp3 players as well (sony walkman technology). The technology on them seems to be based at teenagers.

i just picked up the lg versa on ebay for 75 bucks. pretty sweet phone with alot of features. and no data plan required!
