At the moment here in Italy getting a micro sim is not easy ,try vodafdone.it or tim.it to see if they will give you one ,or you will have to go to a high street outlet of one or the other .
You also need to provide some form of recognised identification (passport etc )so a high street store might be easier ,as these things are not so easy to do online here unless you are an existing client.

And about about prices for data?
Check out www.vodafone.it as they have a deal on at the moment .micro sim free including 5 traffic and 2 per day for 500mb .This still has to be got from a high st outlet as you need to leave a form of id.(ps site is in english if you scroll down and click on English version bottom left of screen
