Hopefully some customization like being able to change your SMS bubble colors and perhaps the background photo. But knowing Apple that will probably be another 10 years.
AR sensor array for the rear of the device. This will be the major new feature and include various sensors akin to those used for Face ID on the face of the iPhone X. These sensors will map a wide field of your surrounding environment and allow the computer to have vision. This will allow for identification of objects in the camera, instantaneous auto-focus, far better bokeh effect accuracy, far better depth mapping, distance detection, etc.
Maybe not but it should happen as it’s ridiculous at this point. It would be great if we could have similar color themeing on the lock screen... similar to the Apple watch.
Two OLED phones with basically the same design as the X, 5.8-inch and 6.4-inch sizes. They will at least get them both under $1000 ($899 and $999), so that they can get away with no new LCD models, just a price drop to the 8 and 8 Plus ($599 and $699). Usual improvements to processor, cameras, etc. ProMotion has to make its way to the iPhone at some point, so that wouldn't be surprising. I don't think that the return of Touch ID is likely. If Face ID goes well enough for them, they'll focus their efforts on things like ProMotion rather than resurrecting Touch ID under the display.
