Basically this is my problem, and I'm hoping one of y'all can suggest the best solution.

I need to keep my MacBook charged, so 1 port for that.

As well as my iPhone, so 1 port for that

Then I need a port to hook up my external hard drive.

And I need a port for to hook up my external monitor - right now it's HDMI do DVI I think.

And lastly, SD card....

Right now I only have 2 ports USB-C on my new MBP.

Thanks in advance! Y'all Rock!!!

It's legit. Just not shipping yet.
Indiegogo is a site similar to kickstarter. You donate, get first pick when shipping starts (assuming that it ever does). As Hyperdrive has already had shipping products, this might be more real than some products that you see as kickstarters.
Read the rest of the page for updates. They claim to start shipping in "mid-March 2017", going to those who donated first. The update also says mid April for new pre-orders.
Amazon shows it, too, and also lists it as "currently unavailable"

Don't know what their ultimate shipping price will be, but a donation of $79 plus shipping, sounds very nice for a thunderbolt type hub.

Ok cool yeah the dongle looks legit as heck I just don't want to get ripped off. I've heard folks on kick starter having problems. Definitely interested in this hub.

Buy last year's Macbook Pro.

Hyperdrive has arrived for my 2016 MBP. Works very well, although an odd issue i encountered:

It only seems to let me charge through the 'Thunderbolt 3' Port, and not the other one which is only USB-C spec'd. This means you can use clamshell mode with a display unless you charge through one of the other side ports. (You also need to be using the Thunderbolt port on the Hyperdrive for the display.) I've contacted them to see if this is a known issue, as I think it should charge the MBP through either port on the Hyperdrive...

Other than that, all the ports work perfectly and are fast. It looks quite nice but doesn't sit perfectly flush against the MBP.... close enough

TLDR - Hyperdrive is a good solution
