can anyone help with screen sharing issue?

The mouse pointer on the remote screen is performing action about an inch away from where it looks like it is hovering on my local screen.

any ideas on how to sync the two?

local (home) is a mac mini running mountain lion and remote (work) is an imac also running mountain lion. keybpard commands seem to work fine. i am navigationg right now by guessing where the cursor is...

any ideas?
