I have a properly activated and unhacked iPhone.

I had the ATT service turned off and left the States a few days ago and am now in Cairo Egypt where I will live for three years.

The phone shows "No Service" in the top left, but the WIFI, iPod and everything else is working fine.

The iPhone continues to sync with iTunes with no probs.

Questions:

1. Does anyone know when the iPhone will be available in Egypt?
2. Is there any provider in Europe that offers service in Egypt through which I can use my iPhone at normal rates?

Many thanks.

(An aside: ATT personnel, both the 800 number and in-store, have very little knowledge of and absolutely no enthusiasm for the iPhone, and treated me like an nuisance. Opening the iPhone service to other carriers will at least add competition which tends to improve service.)
