Looking for a good, reasonably priced glass protector screen for the new XS Max. Anyone have any good suggestions, not looking to spend a lot.

This one

iCarez [3D Full Coverage Tempered... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GR5FJ6W?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf

Someone here recommended it. It covers the entire screen and has rounded black edges that match with the phones’s bezel. A sales guy at Best Buy asked if I needed a glass protector and was shocked when I told him one was already on.

When installing, there may be a couple of bubbles. FYI they disappear overnight so don’t try to lift and reapply- they go away. My screen is 100% clear. Very similar to the Peel protector but appears to be better quality. You get two protectors in the box, too.

Do you mean screen protector? I would def’n recommend Zagg. Spend the few extra bucks because the cheapo ones really don’t protect the screen from a face-drop. You’ll get cracks under cheap protectors, this has happened to my past iPhones 3 times with 3 different screen protector brands! The only one that has withstood seriously horrible face falls on concrete and even huge beach rocks, is Zagg. I’m talking falls that make that cringeworthy “crunch” sound on the drop, and you pick up the phone to see the screen is completely smashed, except it’s not the screen that smashes, it’s the Zagg protector! Plus, if you register online, they have a lifetime guarantee where if your screen protector breaks, they will replace it for FREE, no questions asked! That alone makes it worth the few extra bucks, so if you do end up cracking the protector and then Zagg replaces it for free, that’ll def’n save you $$$ in the long run. Hope this helps!

Thanks

I couldn’t find the one I use on Amazon, though they have other Zagg sp. I like this one that you can get from Best Buy. You can save a few bucks here, too, if you need other accessories. They offer 25% off if you buy 3 phone accessories!

DO NOT buy this one!

"ETHYS Glass Screen Protector Designed for iPhone XS Max (6.5") [3-Pack] [Edge to Edge Coverage] Full Protection Durable Tempered Glass for Apple iPhone XS MAX Guidance Frame Included (Pack of 3)"

Its not "Edge to edge" like they say, the alignment tray is off a few mm and the edges are sharp.
They are also a bit skeezy in the fact that they include a coupon in the box saying they will give you a free $10 amazon giftcard for good shill reviews.

I hit return and will pickup the icarez 3d.

And my experience has been good with this protector. Took me 2 to get one on with dust. I really wanted to be totally protector free with this phone but just couldn’t do it. I agree it’s not exactly edge to edge but pretty darn close. If it were any bigger it would interfere with my case and probably lift up at the edges. I don’t find the edges rough but are well rounded. I’m also using with a slim case. With the protector the screen is now even with the case front.

But if anyone finds a better one, I’d be happy to switch. Although I do a have dust free install with zero bubbles.

The Zagg Glass Screen Protectors you can get at Best Buy are really nice. The packaging doubles as an applicator helper and I've use them twice and they go on perfectly straight with no bubbles or dust getting under it.

Im running a Pitaka case so it does not come up near the glass and you really hit those edges a lot. perhaps on some of the "big" cases with alt of lip you might not hit them as much?
I'm returning and ordered the icarez 3d which should be much smoother. We shall see!

My case is very thin and slim but does have camera and screen protection. It’s just a tad thicker than the Caudabe and Totallee super thin ones. So right now the case and protector are actually even.

Let us know how you make out with the iCarez. I think I didn’t try that one as some reviews were complaining of not being to get the bubbles out.
[doublepost=1537802502][/doublepost]While most of these protectors now come with a plastic tray to line them up, I still struggled to keep tiny dust away. I messed up the first protector totally. Then I did the steamy bathroom routine Along with my trusty lint roller. It still took me three times to get a dust free and perfectly aligned protector with no bubbles. The nice thing is that I was able to do this 3 times with that 2nd protector.

Does anyone want 2 Manto screen protectors for the Max? They are the ones that are not edge to edge - just plain glass with the notch cutout and no black edging. I’ll mail them to you for free. I ordered these and also the edge to edge ones and therefore won’t use these. It doesn’t really pay to do a return. So if you want them just PM me. I’d rather have someone use them than they sit around collecting dust. LOL - no dust as they are in a box. First come, first serve.

+1 on that iCarez protector with the install tray.

Its awesome. Fits with my leather case perfectly.Cant barely tell its there.

The pics below are from the iPhone XS MAX Space Grey 256 GB with Apple Red Leather Case.

I also used it on my original iPhone X. I think the tray is a new option this year and it is awesome. No scratches. Durable and smooth to the touch even after cleaning with windex. I never had to install the second one on my X. The first one i used has held up like a champ.

Something to be warned about... I have used iCarez for a couple years. Love them. The screen for the Max is TIGHT tolerance if you're using cases witgh a lip, like the Spigen line. Even using the tray to install, there's still some wiggle room, and if you're not dead exact, a corner will lift. I am a bit OCD over this sort of thing, so I went through a couple installs until I had one in the perfect spot with ZERO specs or lint, and I still get a tiny bit of lift in the corners.

Looks like the one I have is 2x the price for the same thing. I cancelled another order I placed and ordered the one above for 8bux. The tray alignment is awesome. Looks like the $16 and $8 are the same thing.

The sizing on the two different price points are different. The cheapest version is larger margins on the edge to allow for more lip of cases. The $16 version is completely edge to edge. I had to dig around the item descriptions to find that info myself.
