I'm setting up a VM that I want to sandbox and have the VM run on a different wifi network than the host.

Can anyone recommend a USB wifi adapter/NIC that works with current versions of macOS?

Host OS = Sonoma (5k 2019 iMac); Guest OS = Sequoia; Hypervisor = VMware Fusion 13.62

Thanks!

Your challenge is installing unsupported drivers. If you accept the caveat nothing (software / hardware) is officially supported, begin experimentation.

@Bigwaff - Thanks for sharing that - I had a quick look, but will definitely dive deeper. This is a good start.

Since the 3d printer is on an IoT vlan, and the software must be on the same vlan, I cannot think of another way to manage that.

The only alternatives I can think of are to setup a guest windows VM with a USB wifi adapter or possibly running some old mac hardware I have with some older unsupported versions of MacOS.

If anyone else has some ideas, I'm all ears.
