Mouse over it and you'll see a double headed arrow. Click on it and drag in the direction(s) of the arrow to resize the dock.

I have had a problem similar to this after downloading a file from the Internet. It doesn't appear to be that for you, but try typing this into the Terminal:

killall Dock

And then hit return. It should disappear.

Nope! nothing! tried!

Will this crash my mac?
haha! or will my dock never be found again?!
:p

The line is supposed to be there. It's a separator. On the left side of the line, are applications that either install aliases in the dock (some OS stuff) or when you put aliases of applications that you want in the dock. One the right side are folder aliases that the user puts in the dock. On the far right of the folders is the Trash.

BTW, the separator has always been there, As I remember, since the dawn of the dock.

It'll be fine; there is no harm from running this command. Your Dock will disappear for a couple of seconds, then will pop back up, hopefully without the extra line.

Wrong line your are looking at! look at the thick on below the line you are looking at! it's a thick horizontal line!

How does this person currently have a comment score of negative 1? I thought they phased out the negative score system years ago, and I don't even see negative buttons. Did a mod do that? LOL

^^^^It has to be a mod - one with a sick sense of humor. I made a darn mistake for gosh sakes. I'd like to know who the mod is and catch his errors:mad:

There was another -1 by Dweez, but I changed it to a 0. That mod's a Funny Guy - NOT!!!!!
