Can Aperture (when it's not broken) export only metadata to my photos?

I've been looking for software that will allow me to export metadata (specifically geotag, keywords, descriptions, star ratings and faces info) from the software to my referenced photos without making duplicates. I know iPhoto doesn't do it, but i thought Aperture would. I downloaded the trial version of Aperture and it seems that export functionality is broken in Lion at the moment. Does anyone (who has Snow Leopard, Leopard, etc) know if Aperture allows you to do that?
