My iPod has the negative black screen, dead pixels, a (nearly) dead battery and sometimes on a full charge wont turn on.

Do you guys think apple can replace it with a 2nd generation iPod?

I doubt there are any "2nd Generation iPod's" left.

However, if you mean a second gen iPod Touch that is not out yet... no. Apple will replace your iPod Touch first generation with a new or refurbished iPod Touch first generation.

Thats the way it works.

ok thanks!

what?

No. If it's under warranty, they'll replace it with the same model.

Why would you think they'd upgrade you?

Apple gave me a brand new unit for a few specks of dust under the screen. Not a serious problem, but a seriously annoying factor! I was expecting them to at the very most sent it away for cleaning or something, but they took it and gave me a brand new one on the spot, basically no questions asked.

Go to the iPod Bar and ask - you're better off taking it there than trying to get info from here, because we're not Apple so really couldn't say.
