I believe the thought behind this is you probably aren't working with large files or transferring vast amounts of data because, ya know, Mini. Even MacBooks have 256Gb so I doubt a Mini with 1TB would sell very well and be expensive.

I’m all for creating a pro spec version of the mini personally that has a lot of storage and some other cool bells and whistles but I doubt it’s going to happen.

Seeing as the next refresh will likely be 128GB base, I can see them possibly adding 512GB. Can’t see 1TB though, I don’t think the mini does enough volume to justify 4 storage tiers.

I'm with you, OP. 1TB would be great, but I could also live with 512GB. I can't put all of my photo library and music on here before maxing the 256GB. 8GB+ RAM would be the cherry.

I don't think Apple sees the mini in the same kind of light as the other iPads. I don't think it's a push for Apple to get that kind spec in the lower tier iPad.

For a while (until M1), the Mini 6 had equal to or better specs than the Air. It even got a flash, while, oddly enough, the Airs didn't.

Yeah, I'd love a pro spec Mini as well, but I think we unfortunately may be in the minority.

I think the limitations would be size on that. But the larger storage shouldn’t be an issue if they were able to put it in the iPhone.

And a keyboard case. I will take a third party one of the quality of the one on the Mini 5 made by Brydge which I am using to type this. It’s what’s stopped me getting the 6

A Smart Keyboard portfolio would be great! At the least, the ability to connect it to the current Magic Keyboard.

Sadly, the Mini is a side project for Apple and I doubt it will ever get Pro specs.

Genuine question - what are you storing on the Mini that you need more storage for?
Personally I’d like to use it as a place to store my photos and video when I go away, with a large enough screen to see if composition is ok at the very least. With the camera I am looking at buying taking 100mb+ RAW shots and potentially 8k video it wouldn’t take me long to fill the remainder of 256gb after the operating system and apps up.

Thanks. Yep, I can see that'd require a lot of storage pretty quickly.

A Mini Pro is the the folding iPhone Pro down the line unfortunately. Sure we will get Oled, promotion, all the new bells and whistles but also watch Apple charge near 2k for it.
