Hopefully a dumb question, but just wondering in case my DVD drive ever breaks out of warranty :)

Do you mean an external hard-drive? Or an external USB DVD drive?

The former: you'll need to copy the VIDEO_TS folder to that drive, then open up DVD Player on the computer, and select "Open VIDEO_TS folder"

The latter: as long the drive is supported by OS X, then you should be fine. The drive will act as if it were the built in one.

Oh, sorry, I meant like an external DVD drive (like if the built in one broke out of warranty, it would probably just make sense to get an external drive to replace it).

Anyway that's great to hear it can do it, and isn't tied to just playing stuff off the internal drive!

Thanks!
