Can Apps use the AW Speaker? (looking for apps for musicians)

I've had my watch for about a month now & looking for apps to use to get more out of it.

I'm a singer, so I'm looking for a pitch pipe kind of app that can play pitches from the watch for my a cappella group, but it looks to me like the only real use for the watch speaker is making calls and getting notification pings.

Is this true? Are there any apps that actually use the AW speaker?

I think they're still restricted to particular alert sounds included in watchOS.

I have an ESPN app, for example, which only "dings" on the watch but plays the four-note ESPN motif on the phone.
