Can AT&T charge a fee for the GPS feature on the 3G?

I have recently pre-ordered a 3G and the AT&T sales rep said he would set up the phone for me when it arrived. I asked about the GPS feature and he said there is an extra monthly fee. I thought that was a big upgrade on this phone and am wondering if AT&T can charge for an Apple application. I would like to have accurate information before going to pick up my phone.

There isn't an additional fee for GPS, most likely this is what he was thinking about, it is an optional service and has nothing to do with the GPS capabilities of the iPhone.
