Hi,
I have a first generation Core Duo MacBookPro. Its running snow leopard and the battery condition is on "Replace Soon". The cycle count is 485 and i know i need to replace it. Ive noticed over the last 6 months that the screen seems not as bright as when i bought it. Its not a brightness issue in software and its the same when i use XP via bootcamp.
I suspect the brightness issue might be due to the battery (although its still not as bright as i would expect when plugged into the mains).
I dont really want to spend on a battery if the screen is on its way out so thats why im asking if the screen issue is a common symptom of a warn out battery.
Unfortunately I dont have spare battery to test this.
Any help gratefully recieved.
