I have always been hesitant to use the super cheap 3rd party chargers, and there has been many relevant stories here about exploding phones etc (and https://www.macrumors.com/2014/06/19/iphone-5-faulty-chips/).
I'm going to China and found a nice Totoro-looking battery pack with 10400 mah for just ~15 USD (picture: http://ushadeal.com/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=73).
I was wondering if battery packs can damage the phone in hue same way?
And if so, how do I know which ones are safe? I always go with Apples chargers, but the battery pack category is 100% 3rd party manufactors. Is there any list of "certified" products or reviews of teardowned products?
I obviously know of Mophie Juice Pack and some other more expensive brands, but was wondering if I could go down in price a bit (and the big brands are quite expensive here in Scandinavia).
Thanks!

I had one of the "all in one" battery packs that plug into the ipod/iphone port and stick out an inch or 2, slowly ruin my port.

The weight of the battery pack slowly made the board disconnect and after about a year of use it no longer worked.
