Can Color NOT run through an external HD??

I've researched this and from what I can tell you can't run color through an external. Is this correct?

I'm using Final Cut Studio 2 - and I run all the apps off an external scratch disk.

But I can't seem to understand why I can't run my color render files from an external drive. Seems like I read somewhere that the app doesn't support it, or something like that????

Any thoughts or definitive answers on this???

It can, just go to Macintosh HD / Volumes to see your mounted volumes (HDDs, servers, ...).
