I have tried countless phone calls, store visits and chat sessions to get my issue resolved but I'm not getting any help from Apple's support team. Nobody will replace or repair my device. I purchased a brand new iPhone SE as my secondary device on September 24th. I set it up on the same date, triggering the start of the AppleCare warranty, then stored it back on its packaging because I am still waiting for my carrier SIM and the case that I ordered for the phone.

On September 28th, I activated my cellular service but barely used the device apart from installing applications. Be aware that while I was doing this, the protective film on both sides of the phone are still intact because at the time, I am still waiting for the case to arrive. I stored it again inside its retail box. Today, October 10th, I received my leather case as well as my tempered glass in the mail. I took the iPhone SE out of its box and took off the protective film on its screen and rear view. That's when I noticed that something's wrong.

The Apple logo has a rainbow effect or discoloration. I tried to wipe it with a clean microfiber cloth but it didn't go away. The discoloration is still visible. I took photos of this defect from my other iPhone and I will attach them for your viewing. It's driving me nuts.

Some say it's thermal discoloration. Now I remember the phone getting very hot to the touch the second time I charged it. Could it be that? Can I get the logo replaced, even if done on my own or by a third-party repair shop? I just love this phone, so I thought I'd get another one. I don't want it looking so ugly. What is the material made out of?

Where did you buy the SE? I would return it for another or a refund. It appears that it overheated which caused the discoloration. Most SE phones have been stored away for a long time - even those that are brand new. No telling what condition the battery is in which might be why it got hot when you charged it.
