Can FCP X display DV footage over firewire?

Right now we're still using the DV format at the public access TV facility where I work. Our editing setup consists of FCP 6, with the firewire connection coming out of the computer, going into a DVCAM deck, which then feeds a video monitor. This allows us to monitor what's being edited on a broadcast monitor, with no extra hardware cards, etc., just using the video deck as a DV/analog converter.

Will FCP X output DV footage over firewire the same way the old FCP does? Has anybody tried this yet with DV footage?

No.

There is no option for any external video monitoring without plugins in the current version.
