I have a camera on order (a Panasonic Lumix ZS3) which apparently captures amazing quality video for it's size/price. Anyway, the codec with this camera is AVCHD Lite and I've heard that it may be an incompatible codec with some software.

I do have FCP 7.0.1 and I'm wondering if this will work with AVCHD Lite... and if so, any suggestions for the best way to import/transcode AVCHD Lite to ProRes 422?

From what I understand, AVCHD Lite is just a branding term to identify camcorders that only shoot in 720p.

I'm sure its just the AVCHD codec so it should work fine in FCP (as you mentioned, it will convert it to ProRes). Anyone else with a AVCHD Lite camcorder wanna chime in?
