Hello guys,

May be a stupid question, but I need to know if I can use the HV20 to "read" XH A1 tapes.

My friend will run some movies with the XH A1 and send to me to capture the movie.

Sorry about my english and I hope you guys can help me.

Thanks and cheers!

Won't matter. It's all dv. you can technically use a panasonic camera to capture from which i don't recommend, try to stick to the same maker. what's important are the setting you use when capturing.

It will read the tapes, but only if it was shot in 24f or 60i. I don't think the HV20 will be able to read anything shot in 30f as only the HV30 can record and playback 30p. I sold my HV20 long ago before I got my A1, but I'm using an HV30 now as a playback deck and second camera.

I'm a Panny guy and had an hv20 for about a day before getting an hvx200 so shouldn't have put my foot in my...
Hope the link helps.

Great guys! Tks for the help!

I'll buy the XH A1 now. ;)

Cheers
