can i airplay from ipad to android tv box to show bbc iplayer?

i have an android tv box to show uk tv (i live abroad).

i use filmon because i cant get our VPN to work with the android box but it works fine with ipad and mac.

i was trying to get the ipad to airplay to the android box, adn there is an app on it which looks like its connecting, its called airpin i think, but it doesnt actually play any pictures.

should this work?

Since iOS 7, video does not work via AirPlay and 3rd party devices. Only audio.

If you want to play video, get an AppleTV.
