I’m staying at a hotel in a week that I know for a fact doesn’t have WiFi nor offer any sort of internet.

I plan on taking my 3rd Gen Apple TV, iPad and iPhone in hopes the AppleTV isn’t a dud.

I know the tv in the hotel room has an hdmi outlet although I think the TV in the hotel room is like 720p max, if at all.

I have hundreds of GBs worth of movies and tv shows and music on my iPhone and iPad and am wondering and hoping I can airplay this media over to the tv.

is this possible? Any unforeseen issues?

I think you might be able to set up the AppleTV to use the hotspot on your phone as its wifi source, which then might let you AirPlay to it.

what are you playing your movies on?

it might be easier to just get an HDMI cable and plug in that device. you can get a longer cable if you want to keep your laptop further from the TV.
Or if you're coming off an iPhone or iPad, they make an HDMI adaptor for those, and you can plug right into the TV.

Here’s a way to do it by using peer to peer networking.
This seems like a great solution will definitely try this out thank you!

I would wanna charge my device while connected, no matter the length of the cable. However the appeal of all this is being able to stream movies from my iPhone to the Apple TV while I’m also using my iPhone for other things i.e. web browsing, texting, etc.

I use my iPhone and iPad in hotels frequently in hotels connected to hotel tv. I use the lighting to hdmi and usb c to hdmi from iPad Pro.

you will have to dedicate a device to movie playback. You cannot screen mirror while doing other things it won’t work directly connected or via airplay. I’d skip the Apple TV unless you can connect it to WiFi.
