I just got hold of a Mac Mini at an absolute steal of a price and I've decided to set it up under the tv. I'd really like to sync my iTunes and iPhoto libraries from my Mac Pro to the mini. I don't care about syncing back just yet since I only ever change stuff on my Pro. I want to set something up so that its automatic. Transfer times shouldn't be much of a problem since they'll be connected via gigabit ethernet.

One caveat that I think I'll have is that I've been planning on putting all my tv shows (that I've ripped to my Mac Pro) into iTunes. I ripped most of these a while ago and I'll need to recode them using VisualHub, which is fine. I remember something about being able to use pointer quicktime files for this kind of stuff so that I don't have to bulk up my iTunes library with hundreds of gigabytes of vide. All these videos are also stored on a seperate drive in my Mac Pro. Is there anyway that I can sync my libraries but still have these videos available from both machines? Can quicktime pointers point to files on network shares maybe?
