Thank you for reading this. I am the only user of my PowerMac at my house. There are no other "users." My PowerMac "goes to sleep" every night and "wakes up" automatically at 6:00 a.m. I want to walk up to it in the morning and find that it's ready to go, not that it's waiting for a password. Can I avoid the password requirement.

Thank you for your thoughts.

In System Preferences in the Users panel you can select to automatically log into one user. There's no password required in this case IMO.

Edit: My solution is for bootig, see above for waking from sleep.
