Can I boot Ubuntu from Optibay HDD?

Can I boot Ubuntu from the optibay HDD I have installed (currently used as scratch disk)?

If not, is there a program out there I can use to create a bootable image from a usb? I can't find any compatible for mac.

If that doesn't work, how do I make one?
