...and ask to plug it in? A new local business is selling a 30 inch ACD that they lost the power adapter to while moving. Can I bring this display to a local Apple Store and ask if I can simply plug it in to make sure it works fine? Just wondering since an adapter is about $100 on ebay which I'd rather not spend if it turns out the display doesn't work. Thanks! :apple:

seems like a better idea to call the apple store and ask them directly...

It's kind of an odd request, but I don't see why they won't help you out if you ask nicely enough. I've seen people bring in their own iPhones, iPods, and macbooks to charge while in the store.
