Can I Bring an ACD to the Apple Store.......

...and ask to plug it in? A new local business is selling a 30 inch ACD that they lost the power adapter to while moving. Can I bring this display to a local Apple Store and ask if I can simply plug it in to make sure it works fine? Just wondering since an adapter is about $100 on ebay which I'd rather not spend if it turns out the display doesn't work. Thanks!

It won't hurt to ask. They may let you if you ask nice enough.

It's kind of an odd request, but I don't see why they won't help you out if you ask nicely enough. I've seen people bring in their own iPhones, iPods, and macbooks to charge while in the store.
