Can I buy a used iphone and use my sim card in it?

Let me explain. I have a plan on tmobile with 1000 minutes, unlim. texting and the new 9.99 data plan. If i put this sim card into an iphone thats unlocked, am I all set to use internet and other iphone goodies wherever? Also do i still have 1000 minutes and unlimited texting?


Also, Can i jailbreak/unlock an iphone without a sim card in the actual phone? Like obviously i can just put my sim card(tmobile) in an iphone right off the bat, i would need to JB it, but i dont have an att sim card..can i JB/unlock it anyways?

You need to Jailbreak it and then download Yellowsn0w before you can do so. This is for a 3G iPhone i assume. If its just an old 2G iPhone then you just need to pwnagetool through it and unlock/hactivate it. Then you're good to go.
