Here's the deal. I am in a situation similar to many people on the forums. I preordered the iPhone 6+ from Verizon's website at 2:40 or sometime around that central time. At checkout, it told me delivery date of 9/19. I even received an email confirmation of 9/19. I checked my order status later that morning and it said delivery of 10/7. I was pretty upset by that and was planning on contacting customer service, but when i checked back later the status changed to still processing.
I am still stuck in processing with no tracking and I am not sure I will get the phone on 9/19. I went to my local verizon store and they told me that I could cancel the order through them on Thursday and then show up early friday morning to get a phone, but I could not show up Friday morning and get a phone and cancel my online order at the same time. I had to cancel Thursday and then show up.
So here is my question. Can i show up friday morning and buy the phone outright for $849 and then come back later that day to cancel my preorder and activate the new phone? I do not want to cancel the preorder on Thursday and have it turn out that it shows up on Friday after all.
