With the current CPU problems of the Firefox/Flash combo, I have to use Safari more and more. One of the problems I have with it is that I have trouble reading the lettering on the tabs. The gray background makes it too low contrast for my poor eyes.

Is there a way to select the colors/text sizes of the tabs? Are there skins or themes for Safari?

Your best option is to re calibrate the display colour settings in System Preferences > Display. Going a little lighter helps.

When you say calibrate, do you mean set the brightness higher? That's all I see to do.
