Seeing as the Bose community forum is now closed I hope it's ok to post in here as it's still Apple accessory related. I also don't feel like contacting official Bose support because nothing is actually broken, and I'd like to keep it that way.
I have recently acquired a set of Bose ANC Earbuds, fantastic little things. Basically, the question I have is if can I use my M1 MacBook Air usb-c charger to charge the Earbuds (in the case)? Less cables lying around. I ask because I also have a Zihyun gimble that only charges with the supplied usb-a to usb-c cable, they specifically say to only use the supplied cable. But with these Bose Earbuds I can't seem to find anything. I was under the impression that all usb-c cables and devices automatically adjust for the required voltage, which is anything from 5-20VDC. It would seem that although the gimble has a usb-c input, it can only accept 5v from a usb-a and cannot auto adjust. I hope Bose is different.
I actually tried to charge the gimble with my Air charger and I think it went into overvoltage protection, it didn't charge, but nothing blew up either. I also tried the Air charger with my Earbuds, and I think it will work, but I don't want to blow them up as I really like them, and they were not very cheap.
