Can I charge my iPhone with my usb connected to anything?

I just got a new iPhone so I'm trying to be extra careful with it. On my clock radio there's a usb port on the back where I can charge things, like a phone, and I was wondering if it would be ok to charge a 5s like that. I know ou have to worry about the proper wattage/power business so I don't want to fry my phone.

So is it safe to do that?

You can plug any USB device into any USB cable and into any USB port. You don't have to worry about it blowing up or anything. You're good to go.
