Hi

I'm new to Mac. Using my air today for the first time and am trying to learn keyboaard shortcuts since i'm a heavy shortcut user on Windows.

I often take region screenshots and save to clipboard for paste into email, but "Command-Control-Shift-4" is too clunky. Can I reduce the number of keys required to do this since I use it so much?

Thanks

Sure. Open System Preferences -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Shortcuts. Click Screen Shots in the left-hand list, then the last option in the right side list will be the "Copy picture of selected area to clipboard" command. Double-click where it shows the current keyboard combo and enter whatever key or combo you want to use. Just make sure it's not something that will likely interfere with other functions. It'll place a yellow caution symbol next to it if it matches one of the built-in functions.
