I don't think it works for video streaming to the iPhone, but I wouldn't swear 100%

Yes. That component cable (three video cables and L & R audio) is so you can send your iPhone/iPod screen to a TV. They have a composite version (video and L & R audio) too.

You would think they would have a monitor version too but I haven't looked around for it.

I read somewhere that it could play video and pics, but you couldn't actually see the homescreen, and there was no mention of apps. So wasn't sure.

Have you actually tried it?

I'm really keen to it displayed on a Mac monitor too.
