I have iTunes for Windows and was hoping I could clear up some space by copying my Media\Mobile Apps folder to an external drive. I only ask cause there are companies like MS that get real silly with DRM?

You can. DRM only affects runtime playback / the ability to deploy / save on a given computer. Once a given computer CAN save the file (movie etc.) on an internal HDD (because it was authorized to do so - out of the 5 possible authorizations), it'll be able to access it on an external one too.

Ah that sounds similar to the way Steam does it. :)
