Hello all,

Just bought a Mac. Wooooo!

Total beginner here... Trying to use iMovie to edit my video clips. I import to iMovie directly from my SD card. I cut out the few minutes of video I need and drag them to the top. (My project section). I want to delete the raw video that i did not use. Can i do that without losing the sections i moved to "My Project"? Can i delete them from iMovie, The SD card, and empty the trash can with out losing the video?

Thanks guys
Brandon

So you want to erase the SD card after transferring the clips to the computer?

Do it in camera - reformat. Never from the computer. It can mess up the card.

Or do you want to selectively delete clips from your SD card? Why would you want to do that?

You download the content, back it up on a second drive, and then reformat the SD card in camera.

Then you can delete unwanted clips on your hard drive.
