With one of my Mac's I am having a continuous problem with Safari...every few web searches Safari doesn't load the site and it just hangs.I'll close Safari, and the same thing happens all over again.

Is there a way to uninstall Safari and re-install it without having to go through a compete OS reinstall? I only see Safari updates but nowhere to actually download and install the program itself.

There's no real means of uninstalling safari, short of dragging it to the trash.

As for installing, you'll need to dig into the ML installer app, which if memory serves me is deleted once the install is done. Unless you have a recent backup, getting safari reinstalled is going to be a pain.

Instead of deleting the application, try deleting the plist for it and maybe some of the preference files found in ~/Library. Of course before doing that, back them up ;)

You could also try resetting Safari. Try the easy things before attempting to delete/reinstall it :)

I don't think OS X will even let you drag Safari to the trash. I think you'll just get a message saying Safari is required by OS X, and cannot be deleted.
