Im not allowed to have a wireless router in my dorm but I want to use wireless printing and back up my iMac via ethernet and Macbook Air wirelessly. Also if theres a way to hide the fact that I set up wireless in my room I would also like to know that since I get a terrible signal from the school. Thanks for any info!

Assuming your school is not looking too carefully you can choose not to broadcast your network's SSID (aka the public name of your wireless network) in the router's settings. If your school is actively looking for wireless networks they could still sniff it out using a packet sniffing program though.

best bet would be to create an internal wireless network that doesn't connect to your school's network.

it would however force you to change wireless networks any time you intended to use the internet via wireless.
