I don't know if you've heard but apprently the 8800GT cards might be ever so slightly delayed...

But I need my new Mac Pro for a very imminent job so have been forced to go with the standard ATI card for now. I'll be getting an 8800GT as soon as they ship and so will have a spare ATI card. So my questions are...

1) Can I run both the ATI and the nVidia at the same time?

2) Why would I want to do this, what would be the benefits. I've never run dual cards before, how much more fun is it?

3) WHEN IS MY 8800 GOING TO ARRIVE?

4) Have I lost all of my friends through spending too long checking these forums for news of graphics cards shipments?

Many thanks...

1. You should be able to assuming the Power supply can handle the load.

2. Mainly you would do this if you are planning on using more than two monitors.

3. Only the management at Apple would possibly know this.

4. What are these things called friends you speak of?;)

True, and with two graphics cards I could always put some stock images of friendly looking folk on some extra displays as virtual friends.

Thanks for the help velocityg4.

1) Yes.

2) 4 screens, baby!

3) Eventually.

4) 4 x 30" = many new friends.
