I'm about to buy a used macbook pro on craigslist, if the original OS was 10.7 or 10.8, is there a way i could downgrade it to 10.6.8? i do have the original Snow Leopard Installation disk! the reason i'm asking if because snow leopard its just faster and more stable, thanks again!

If it is a machine that originally came with Lion or ML, Snow Leopard is not going to have the drivers to run the machine and it won't work.

I think I have seen some posts from users that were able to hack around in kexts and drivers etc on some machines to get SL to run on unsupported Macs, but you are not going to be able to just pop the disk in and install it.

From my experience even if the MacBook Pro was built in 2011 it all still depends on what OS was originally installed by Apple.

I know I couldn't install SL on a late 2011 MBP that originally came installed with Lion. I believe it has to do with changed firmware.
