Can I download Lion now but hold off on installing?

I bought an iMac that qualifies for the OS X Lion Up-to-Date upgrade.
I want to take advantage of getting Lion for free but I do not want to upgrade from Snow Leopard just yet. I am still using programs that use Rosetta.

Can I download now and keep it on my Mac for later install or will downloading through the Mac App Store automatically start installing it too?

It is my understanding that you must request their Up-to-Date upgrade within 30 days of purchase (purchased between June 6, 2011 and July 20).

Anybody know? Thanks in advance.

Basically what you get from the app store is an "install OS X Lion" app that works like any other. It will auto- run, but just command-Q out of it and it will happily sit in the apps folder (or can be copied to another location forbackup or use on another mac you own to save a repeat 4GB download). Let it sit unused till you want it.
