Can I face chat from my phone to someones pc with skype?

My friend lives in another state. Id love to be able to face chat but he doesnt have an iphone. He has skype on his computer. Is there away for me to face chat from my phone to his skype? If so please explain the steps.

No, Skype hasnt been updated to do videochat with iphones yet.
You can use yahoo IM though if your friend wants to install that instead.

Oh ok thanks. So I need to tell him to download yahoo IM. Do I need to get an app for the iphone to be able to face chat through that?

Yes, you need to install the yahoo IM app also on your phone.

Have you guys had good experiences with the yahoo messenger video calls? I tested it on my home network and there was a 5-10 second delay in audio and video... very annoying and basically unusable.

no problem at all...

call on 3G slightly more blurry than wifi, but still very good quality. No lag whatsover and sound is loud and clear

Calls were made from NY (iPhone4) to Singapore (PC)

Both yours and your videochat receivers internet connections upload and download speed and network congestion would be the reasons of delays and other issues that might come up.

If friend has a mac running Snow Leopard, just have him install the facetime for mac client.
