Hi,

I have just set up my first Homekit product a camera. I would like it to only send me motion notifications when I am not there. I assume it thinks I am there when my iPhone is there, but can I set it, to not provide notifications if only my watch is there and unlocked? I.e. I go out with my watch on, leave the iphone at home, I would get a notification of any movement whilst out, but on return, I wouldn´t get any notifications?

Thanks

it should already work like that. I believe you must have a cellular watch though.
I'm not sure how it decides when to use the watch and not the phone. Possibly when the watch and phone loose bluetooth, it will then use the watch to determine where you are.

go to main settings app -> your Apple ID at the top -> Find my
under My Location, it should say "this device and cellular apple watches"

If you're on the device you're currently using, you won't be able to change anything.

if you want to use another device as "your" location, on that device, go to the same menu in settings, and it will say something like "use this iPad" you can click that, and that iPad is where apple thinks you are. To go back to your phone/watch, just reselect it on your phone

Thanks for the reply.

Its not working. There is something strange, on my mac and iPad I can select notifications on the device and on People I can toggle between off, at home and away. On my iPhone, Notifications - People is greyed out and I cant select any options.

Any ideas?
