Can I flip up *only* the 2 batteries over the trackpad to replace the trackpad? (A1398)

If I do this will it break the entire battery? Looks like its run in series by wires that are on the sides so it seems okay, but I don't know what it is like under it.

I only need to replace the trackpad. The battery is new. All of the videos I see remove the entire battery as well.
