Can I get a pre-paid data plan with a pre-paid credit card? Located in Canada.

I have purchased a cellular model ipad Mini and I'm presently looking into setting up a data plan not on contract. I went into Telus and they said just buy the Nano SIM card and set it right up on the iPad using a credit card, issue is I don't have one nor do I have a Visa Debit card as my bank doesn't offer them.

Does anyone know or can anyone confirm if I can set up a plan on my ipad using a Pre-Paid Credit Card or am I stuck doing contract?
