can I get a scroll wheel as separate unit?

Hi there,
I use a pen and tablet half the time, and don't want to have to pull out my mouse (with built-in scroll wheel) when I need to scroll. Is there a separate scroll-wheel unit I can get? I'd put it to the left of my keyboard (which is to the left of my tablet)... in this way I could scroll with my left hand while leaving the pen in my right hand.

This may be what you are looking for. It’s shaped more as a jog wheel but is VERY useful.

You could get an Apple Magic Pad and do all sorts of commands via multi-touch, including vertical and horizontal scrolling, with your left hand.
