I bought a 3g phone on the opening day last July. Now I want to upgrade to 3gs, but it states that I cannot do it until December. Is that correct?

Apparently it is. If you have further questions, perhaps at&t would better suited to answer them than the people here.

You can upgrade anytime, you just won't get the fully discounted price. Walk thru the signup on Apple.com and it'll give you the pricing you're eligible for.

You should be able to do an Early upgrade for ($399 & $499) iPhone 3GS. The guys on ATT told me I could do that every 6-7 month without a problem.

But a Upgrade for the 199 & 299 price would require 18 months as far as i know....

I was able to upgrade after 12 months, at the $299 price for my 3GS 32GB iPhone, so I'm not sure where the (18) month number is coming from. OP, talk to AT&T and make sure your bill is up to date, and you should be good to go....

I think they let you do that after 12 months only if your monthly bill is over $100 per month.
I agree he should call AT&T for more details about his account.

My bill is over $100 on a family plan. I think for the two of us it comes out to be around 115. Does that count?

Why. are. you. asking. on. forums.

Call AT&T and ask the reps who actually handle each unique circumstance in regards to plans and upgrades.

No the rate plan has to be $100 at least from what I understand this is before the data plan and taxes.
