Can I get an upgrade

I bought a 3g phone on the opening day last July. Now I want to upgrade to 3gs, but it states that I cannot do it until December. Is that correct?

You can upgrade anytime, you just won't get the fully discounted price. Walk thru the signup on Apple.com and it'll give you the pricing you're eligible for.

About 18 months after buying is when they'll let you upgrade.

I bought 3G during the same time frame and AT&T allowed an early upgrade for those of us that purchased in July, August or September '08. Check with AT&T and they'll work things out for you....

You'll have to pay the $399 and $499 price if u want to upgrade now. Or wait till December for the full discounted price.

You should be able to do an Early upgrade for ($399 & $499) iPhone 3GS. The guys on ATT told me I could do that every 6-7 month without a problem.

But a Upgrade for the 199 & 299 price would require 18 months as far as i know....

I was able to upgrade after 12 months, at the $299 price for my 3GS 32GB iPhone, so I'm not sure where the (18) month number is coming from. OP, talk to AT&T and make sure your bill is up to date, and you should be good to go....

Well, my bill is over $100, and I have to wait 20 months (not the 18 I wrote above).

Call AT&T and ask the reps who actually handle each unique circumstance in regards to plans and upgrades.

No the rate plan has to be $100 at least from what I understand this is before the data plan and taxes.
