Can I get malware by downloading a game from Steam

Hi,

just a short question. Some years ago I bought COD:MW3 for my old laptop.
I also downloaded a lot of mods/hacks for the multiplayer and I think some files were infected with malware etc.

Now, since the game is available for Mac to download via Steam I would like to install it on my Macbook.

So my question is, is it possible that I somehow transfer malware to my mac by downloading it and playing it with my old account that I used with my old laptop where the infected files were installed?

No. Not possible. It's downloaded from steam and has nothing to do with your old computer.
